In the plate rolling process, a flat plate of metal is formed into a specific curve or radius. The plate placed between rollers, which turn in opposite directions, and which have a gap smaller than the thickness of the metal plate. As the plate moves between the rollers it is compressed, or made thinner. As the work is performed, the plate is eventually molded into a cylindrical shape that can then be used as part of a construction project.
Of course, the rollers used in the process experience deformation under load, as they are being pressed against the metal plate. Companies that provide plate rolling services must be careful to ensure that the deformation of the rollers does not interfere with the quality of the finished product.
A-1 Roll has the experience needed to deliver a high quality plate rolled product. These finished sections can be used in the creation of cylinders, tanks, cones and shells. We can work with a wide range of materials, including steel, brass, aluminum and copper to make sure that you get the parts you need for a project in any industry. Our 25,000 square foot facility also has the machinery to lets us produce even the tightest radii needed for parts, while working with a wide range of material sizes and thicknesses.
We also provide a range of additional services including:
